A New Jersey township has closed all schools “out of an abundance of caution” due to a possible connection with the shooting suspect in the Michigan State shooting.
The suspect, 43-year-old Anthony McRae, reportedly had local ties to Ewing Township, New Jersey.
Michigan police reportedly found a note in McRae’s pocket that “indicated a threat to two Ewing Public Schools.”
In light of the investigation, Ewing Township closed all public schools for the day.
“After further investigation, it has been determined that the incident is isolated to Michigan, and there is no threat to Ewing schools,” a press release from the Ewing Township Police Department stated.
“Information received during our investigation indicated that McRae has not resided in the Ewing area in several years.”
