On Monday, Joe Biden addressed the International Association of Fire Fighters Legislative Conference.
The IAFF represents hundreds of thousands of firefighters and paramedics.
It was the first major labor group to back Biden’s 2020 presidential bid, according to Bloomberg.
The IAFF stated in 2019:
“Joe Biden is a lot like fire fighters, he is a problem solver who cares deeply about his country and is driven to make it better,” said Harold Schaitberger, General President of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), in announcing the union’s endorsement of Vice President Joe Biden in his bid to become the next president of the United States in 2020.
Although many Democrats think Biden should forego a 2024 re-election campaign, his speech to the labor union hints at a 2024 presidential run.
