Republican Rep. Alex Mooney of West Virginia announced on Tuesday that he will run for U.S. Senate for the seat currently occupied by Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin.
The election for the Senate seat takes place in 2024.

Manchin has been in the U.S. Senate for over a decade and hasn’t made a “complete decision” about whether he will seek reelection in 2024.
