Former American swimming champion Jamie Cail, 42, died suddenly in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The U.S. Virgin Islands Police Department launched an investigation into her sudden death.
Cail was a star athlete and competitive swimmer in her youth.
Police say Cail was found unresponsive in her St. John home Tuesday.
According to investigators, Cail’s boyfriend came home to check on her shortly after midnight and found her lying on the floor.
He brought her to a nearby health clinic but she died from her “ailment.”
