1,000 Georgia National Guard members have been called up as Atlanta issued a state of emergency in fear of more unrest following last weekends violent riots.

The governor stated that:
“Georgians respect peaceful protests, but do not tolerate acts of violence against person or property.”
Gov. Brian Kemp said he called upon the National Guard to “subdue riot and unlawful assembly”.
During a Jan.18 sweep of Intrenchment Creek Park, a 26 year old protestor Manuel Esteban Paez Teran, died in a gun fight with Georgia State Troopers.
