According to Maxwell, an inmate was planning on strangling her in exchange for a cash payment. I can only assume that the alleged cash payment was quite large due to this information from an NBC News report:

What amount of money would make anyone consider an additional 20 years in prison? Who had this kind of money to spend on the killing of Maxwell?
